Aiken Electric Cooperative serves Aiken, Barnwell, Calhoun, Edgefield, Greenwood, Lexington, McCormick, Orangeburg, and Saluda counties.

    Security deposit options for residential application:
  • $500.00 monetary payment – Installment plan may be offered.
  • Acceptable letter of credit from a previous power supplier – This letter of credit must indicate that service has been in good standing, with no more than two consecutive late payments, no returned checks, and no disconnects in the past 12 calendar months.
  • Electric Service Deposit Cosigner Agreement – Cosigner agreement must be signed by current member that is in good standing with Aiken Electric Cooperative.
  • Acceptable credit rating from the Cooperative designated Credit Bureau.

    Security deposit options for commercial application:
  • Cash Deposit – The standard deposit for commercial service accounts is the two highest consecutive bills at that premise. On accounts without billing history, the deposit will be based on two months estimated usage.
  • Surety Bond – This surety bond should be issued in the amount that is equal to the cash deposit amount.
  • Irrevocable Letter of Credit – This Letter of Credit should be issued from your bank ensuring payment to Aiken Electric Cooperative.
  • Certificate of Deposit – This Certificate of Deposit should be issued in a joint account named to the consumer and Aiken Electric Cooperative, and should equal to the cash deposit amount.
