Important Information about the COVID-19

Aiken Electric Cooperative will temporarily suspend disconnection of service due to non-payment, until the state of emergency (COVID-19) is lifted.  We understand that this is a difficult time for many and we want to do our part to help ease those burdens.  We want you to focus on your well-being and the well-being of your loved ones. 

However, we strongly encourage you to continue to pay your balances so that you do not have an unmanageable bill when things return to normal with a potentially high balance.

DISCONNECTS POSTPONED, PAYMENTS ARE NOT --- DON’T FALL TOO FAR BEHIND

Aiken Electric Cooperative is dedicated to serving our membership and always looking out for you and our community, especially during a time of emergency and need.

As the threat of COVID-19 continues, all AEC lobbies remain closed to protect the health of our members and employees. However, we continue to serve our members at our drive-thru window locations in Aiken, Edgefield, New Ellenton and North.

As you are aware, AEC is postponing account disconnections for nonpayment until further notice to help our members. We urge our members to keep accounts up-to-date and stay on top of electricity use and monthly bills. Please remember you will still be responsible to pay for the electricity you use. Don’t fall too far behind on payments that you won’t be able to catch up when all this is over. We want to remind you of our convenient payment options listed on our website at aikenco-op.org or on our mobile app.

We would like to reassure our members that closures, etc. will not affect your electric service. Linemen are still responding to outages, work continues with service orders, member bills are still being processed and mailed, and our members can talk to an AEC member service representative at 803-649-6245 regarding any questions or concerns about their bill.​

In an effort to preserve the health and safety of our membership and employees we have closed our Lobby. We are asking that all payments be made at the drive-thru window and/or kiosk. We also have other payment methods available, such as payment through:

  • Automated Payment System - call 803-649-6245
  • Mobile App or Online Payments at aikenco-op.org
  • Dropbox located by drive-thru
  • Mail

We are committed to maintaining reliable service to our membership, while following the recommendations of the CDC to keep you and our employees safe from the Coronavirus. Please contact a member services representative at 803-649-6245 with any questions or concerns.

If you are applying for new service:

  • Do not have computer access - Please go through the drive-thru to obtain your member application, and return to the drive-thru window once it has been completed.
  • Do have computer access - Please visit our website and go to Members > Apply for Service > Apply Online

We have payment methods available, such as payment through:

We also have a new user friendly method of processing requests including connection, disconnection, security light repair, and other options. Visit our website and click on the Members tab and select Online Services.

We encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with the DHEC suggested safety precautions including regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, and avoiding close contact with anyone showing signs of illness.
